One reader notes the book offers “a year’s worth of mini-vacations.”
Walk There! was funded by Kaiser Permanente and published by Metro, the Portland-area regional government, in 2008.
About 35,000 copies were given away free. In 2009, a slightly revised edition was published by Metro, priced at $9.95. Both editions are out of print but available through used booksellers.
However, you can download the book’s walks and accompany maps free at the Walk There page on Metro’s site.
